1. Expansion of operations of the International Medical Publishing Group (IMPG)
As reported in our News Report of October 2004, Kingswood Scientific Publishers was established in 1953. Following the merger between Kingswood Scientific Publishers and Cosmopolitan Health Publishing in 1978, with the formation of Kingscos Medical Publishers, the work of the group has been expanding. The scope of the activities of the group was further strengthened by the formation of more alliance with our counterparts in different parts of the world, contributing to the formation of the ‘International Medical Publishing Group’ in 2004, with a consensus agreement for the name to become operational from January 2006.
At the meeting of the IMPG Committee in March 2006, it was agreed that a Limited Liability Company by Guarantee would be formed in the UK, as our operations are expanding in the UK and Europe. This is in response to the demand of our customers in order to promote the continuos growth of the Group from its operations since 1953 as international partnerships. It was also agreed that a Board of Trustees would be appointed to oversee the activities the group, especially with regards to the International Medical Services Fund (IMPGF), the grant awarding division of the group, which was established in 2004. It was decided that a Board of Trustees for the Group would be appointed in 2007/2008.
2. International Medical Publishing Group Fund (IMPGF) Awards
The second round of awards under the IMPGF Scheme was made in September 2006 to the following groups:
3. Update on the New Website of the International Medical Publishing Group (IMPG)
The construction of the New Website of the IMPG is progressing well. Various links are being incorporated into the site, and include new acquired ventures and projects. These also include information on the IMPGF, the grant awarding division of IMPG. The draft Website was circulated to the IMPG Management Team in December 2006 for comments. The amendments required would be carried out in 2007, and it is anticipated that the complete Website would be live on the Internet by the end of 2008.
