1. International Medical Publishing Group Fund (IMPGF)
The first award under the IMPGF Scheme was made in September 2005. The recipient of the award was Dr Comfort Osonnaya, Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Medicine (IJM) and her co-workers. The group was awarded a total sum of £222,380 to enable them to employ a Managing Editor, Production Manager and Editorial Administrator for the International Journal of Medicine (IJM) and related Publications. We would like to congratulate Comfort and her team for their successful bid.
2. Update on the New Website of the International Medical Publishing Group (IMPG)
The construction of the New Website of the IMPG is progressing well. Various links are being incorporated into the site. These would make it possible to have links to most of the Journals and organisations that we work with. We are still on course to completing the website by 2006.
3. New International Primary Health Care Journal
We are pleased to announce that the first edition of Primary Health Care (PHC): An International Journal is being produced and would be launched in 2006. The Journal is edited by Dr Comfort Osonnaya of Queen Mary, University of London, and is served by an efficient International Editorial Board. The facilities for indexing the Journal in Medline, EMBASE and other Online Databases are being organised. Details of these would be made available in due course. The PHC Journal is the official Primary Care Journal of the Association of Health Care Professionals (AHCP).
4. Distribution of Journals and Periodicals
We have now agreed with our distributor that Editorial Board Members and off site staff of the various journals, which we produce would be receiving copies of the editions of the Journals and Periodicals. A mechanism is being put in place for this to run smoothly from 2006.
